Calling all fair-goers...


Fall is upon us, and that means it's time for fairs and festivals! Connecticut has an awesome variety of fall fairs and festivals to choose from and there's sure to be one that's perfect for you.


From the oldest continuously active agricultural fair in the United States to a traditional country fair with pig races and thrill rides, there's something for everyone. Oh and did I mention food..?! Don't even get me started with the incredible food.


Here are many of the fairs you won't want to miss:


  • HEBRON HARVEST FAIR (September 5th-8th)

    📍 347 Gilead St. Hebron, CT

    🎟️ Tickets: $15, Children Under 12: Free

    This fair is a great place to experience the best of Connecticut agriculture. Enjoy livestock shows, midway rides, exhibits, a small-animal barn, arts and crafts, food booths, and continuous stage entertainment.

  • NORTH HAVEN FAIR (September 5th-8th)

    📍 290 Washington Ave. North Haven, CT

    🎟️ Tickets: $12, Children Under 11: Free

  • WAPPING FAIR, SOUTH WINDSOR (September 5th-8th)

    📍 75 Brookfield St. South Windsor, CT

    🎟️ Tickets: $20 (tickets include rides)

    This agricultural fair in South Windsor features livestock shows, rides, bands, magic, food trucks, exhibits, children's attractions, aerialists, exotic animals, and more.

  • BETHLEHEM FAIR (September 8th-10th)

    📍 384 Main St N, Bethlehem, CT

    🎟️ Tickets: $10, Children Under 12: Free

    This old-fashioned fair is a great way to experience rural Connecticut. See livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, horse shows, art and photography shows, farm displays, amusement rides, food, and entertainment.

  • FOUR TOWN FAIR (September 12th-15th)

    📍 56 Egypt Rd Somers, CT

    🎟️ Tickets: $10, Children Under 12: Free

    This fair consisting of East Windsor, Ellington, Somers and Enfield, is a celebration of Connecticut's agricultural heritage. In fact, it stands as the oldest agriculture fair in CT! See antique cars, tractors, and farm animals. Enjoy contests, live music, and delicious fair food.

  • BERLIN LIONS AGRICULTURAL FAIR (September 12th-15th)

    📍 430 Beckley Rd. Berlin, CT

    This fair has been a Connecticut tradition for over 140 years. Enjoy pie-eating contests, frog jumping, livestock shows, crafts, and live entertainment.

  • GUILFORD FAIR (September 20th-22nd)

  • ORANGE COUNTY FAIR (September 21st-22nd)

    This fair is a great way to spend a day with the family. Enjoy classic cars, tractor pulls, animals, arts and crafts, and delicious fair food.

  • DURHAM FAIR (September 26th-29th)

  • HARWINGTON FAIR (October 4th-6th)

  • PORTLAND FAIR (October 4th-6th)

  • RIVERTON FAIR (October 11th-13th)

    This old-fashioned country fair is a great way to experience the Farmington River Valley with involvement from Barkhamsted, Colebrook, and Hartland. Enjoy exhibits, animals, vendors, food, midway rides, music, pie-eating contests, wood chopping events, and more.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR FAIR-GOING EXPERIENCE(S):

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking!

  • Check for parking details ahead of arrival based on the specific fair

  • Bring sunscreen and a hat. It can get hot at the fair, even in the fall.

  • Bring cash for food and games.

  • Be prepared to wait in line. The fair can get crowded, especially on weekends. But it's always worth the wait!

  • Have fun and enjoy yourself. I hope you have a great time at the fair!
